Storytelling is powerful.
Three years as a reporter I watched over and over as people relaxed, brightened, and lightened as I interviewed them.
The human mind uses storytelling to make sense of the world, of life. Telling stories to someone listening without judgement or somewhere else to be - just empathetic curiosity - has a peculiar power. Part of the interview process is helping pull out and sort out the tangled knots of memory. My writing was weaving it all into a coherent narrative. I saw repeatedly the power of the whole process.
I want to offer my skills as reflection projects - co-creative narrative and visual art projects to celebrate, commemorate, understand, or make peace with anything in life big or small.
A project could be any of the same things that make a news story - highs and lows of life.
Celebrating a life in retrospect as at retirement or in memorial
The story of an individual or a family legacy
Landmark birthdays and exemplary love stories
Underdog successes, medical dramas, personal tragedies and triumphs.

10-15 photographs are included with projects as either provided photographs or a photoshoot at no additional cost.

Narrative
Sweet simplicity
You just want the psycho-emotive equivalent of untangling a necklace chain.
One hour to two hour long listening session, less then 5 page narrative.

A collage of fabric or paper can repurpose sentimental materials into a tactile and beautiful piece of art.

The whole damn thing
Looking back at decades of marriage, a career, a life lived - memoir work of significance.
Five to seven listening sessions, final narrative 15 to 20 pages.

A simple PDF is no extra charge. A bound book incurs small additional charges for the cost of printing. A website for a sharable link is also available for an additional $200 for my time.
